Performance

The choreography and composition of classical riding performances is the newest aspect of the Equitation & The Arts project, and is the culmination of continued artistic practice and research. Performances are historically informed, and represent an interpretation of the artistic language that was cultivated to communicate stories and ideas in sixteenth and seventeenth century equestrian ballet. Recordings of performances will be made available to access here, and will fall into two categories: the first is the interpretation and recreation of excerpts from surviving historical ballets; the second is the creation of original performances.
